What is Talkwing

Never get stuckon a reply again.

Talkwing is social intelligence for everything you type. The right reply always exists, but you usually find it three hours later, in the shower. Talkwing helps you say the right thing at the right moment, in your own voice.

See how it works →

  1. It comes with a keyboard. Install the Talkwing app on your phone and you get a keyboard that works in every app you text in. In your browser, the Talkwing extension does the same.
  2. You invite it in. Talkwing never reads anything on its own. When you're stuck, tap the Talkwing key and tell it what you need.
  3. You stay you. It gives you replies that sound like you. Pick one, edit it if you want, and send it.
  4. Your conversations stay yours. Everything stays on your phone, and nothing is stored on our servers.

The intelligence

Fluency is not the same as understanding.

A machine that has read the entire internet can still miss that your friend is hurt. Writing a clean sentence stopped being rare. Knowing what is actually happening between two people never stopped being hard. That is the part Talkwing was built for.

Social intelligence

Every room has rules nobody wrote down. What is charming on Instagram is unhinged on LinkedIn. What is warm in a group chat reads cold in a DM at midnight. Talkwing knows which room you are standing in before it opens its mouth.

Asks: what works here? Platform and surface: detected, never typed.

Emotional intelligence

"No worries" is almost never no worries. People bury the part that matters underneath the part that is polite, and the whole conversation turns on the sentence they decided not to send. Talkwing answers the one underneath.

Asks: what is really being said? Attribution, subtext and stakes, resolved before generation.

Relationship intelligence

The same eight words are tender from your oldest friend and cold from your manager. Meaning was never stored in the message. It lives in the history between two people, and Talkwing keeps that history in the room.

Asks: who is this to you? Your voice and this thread travel with the request.

Getting the words right is a writing problem. Knowing what to say is a people problem. Only one of those was ever hard.

Watch it reason

The opener. The cold client. The comeback.

Three conversations you will recognise, each one turning. Grey bubbles are them. Dark bubbles are what Talkwing wrote with you, and the last message is the part you are actually buying.

A story is something she chose to broadcast, which is why replying to one beats a cold DM about four to one: the permission is built in. The move flips her self-roast into a compliment without dropping the joke — “including you” is what keeps it a tease instead of syrup.

playbook: revivals · kept the update, the deadline · dropped “hey stranger” — it has never once worked

The callback is the whole trick: it proves the thread’s history is still in the room, so the silence needs no explaining. Give the thread somewhere to go, and the gap stops existing.

Also on the table — let it stay dead. Talkwing says so when the road truly ran out.

The read

playbook: dead-deal revives · kept the funny out · dropped the guilt nudge — guilt gets read, never answered

A “no” that has aged six weeks usually means your follow-ups stopped being read at all. The goodbye note is the one message with nothing left to lose — so it is finally allowed to be funny. A genuine out, one deadpan aside, and an answer that costs them a single word.

five weeks of processing

Small announcement: Invoice #204 turns 60 (days old) on Friday. No gifts, no card — settling it quietly before the celebrations would be the dream. Want me to resend the PDF so it doesn’t have to travel far?

The read

playbook: money chases · kept the birthday · dropped the deadline threat — threats collect once, then cost the client

Everyone writes the chasing email angry and sends it timid. The birthday fixes both: the number does the confronting, the joke does the forgiving — and the offer to resend hands them a one-click yes instead of an apology to compose.

Also on the table — the formal nudge, cc’d to accounts · pause the work, kindly

DM · a brand that loves your work

Love your stuff! Budget’s tight this quarter, but this would be great exposure — our audience would eat it up.

the brand · tuesday

Genuinely flattered — and exposure is welcome, it’s just that my landlord remains unmoved by reach 😄 Two real options: the full piece at my usual rate, or a lighter cut that fits a tight quarter. Which shall I price up?

This is the extension, exactly as it works: the icon lives in the reply box, nothing is read until you tap, and the labels are invented for the moment. The strategy: “nobody asked” is not a critique, it is attendance — so treat it as attendance. One handshake and he is a guest at the party he came to heckle. The gentlest punch available: he is welcomed, not insulted.

The read

playbook: work-dunk replies · kept the down-correction · dropped the defence — explaining the design re-litigates it

The oldest trick in the hall of fame, borrowed from the masters of the public reply: when the insult contains a number, correct it in the wrong direction. Agreeing harder than he attacked leaves him nothing to push against — and the punch stays on the work, which you were proud of anyway.

The third option that day — let it die. Talkwing says so when a thread is not worth winning.

None of these took longer than a minute. The other person just thinks you’re good at this.

The honest question

So why not just paste it into a chatbot?

Fair. You would get a well-written sentence back. Everyone rents the same models, and the models are good now. Here is what you would not get.

The whole room, not one line.

The moment you copy a message out of a conversation, everything around it disappears: who else is in the thread, what was said an hour ago, which post you are replying to. Talkwing is already there. It never has to be told the situation, because it is standing in it.

Which box you are standing in.

A DM, a reply, a public comment, a quote. That one fact changes the right answer more than almost anything else about a message, and it is the last thing you would ever think to type into a chatbot.

How you actually sound.

Not a formal register and not a cheerful assistant voice. Your own voice, clipped or warm or half in another language, read from the way you already write, so what comes back is something you would plausibly have said.

The word "don't".

A chatbot will always write you something, because that is what it is for. But some threads are unwinnable and some messages are better left for the morning. Talkwing will tell you when the move is to say nothing. It is the difference between a tool and a friend.

Everyone rents the same models. The whole difference is what you feed them.

When you reach for it

At least six of these have happened to you.

Nobody needs help with “sounds good”. Talkwing is for the other ones: the messages you type, delete, retype, and eventually send with one eye closed.

Left on “haha yeah”

The thread is not dead, but it is not well. The next message restarts it or embalms it, and “hey stranger” has never once restarted anything.

Three photos and a bio

One photo is a group shot, the bio says “just ask”, and somebody has to go first. “hey” is not it.

“Let’s align on this”

A note from your manager that is 70% fine and 30% going in a file. Your reply is going in the same file, and Talkwing writes it that way.

Asking for more money

You wrote the salary email at midnight and it apologises twice. Talkwing reads only your draft, and returns the version with a spine.

The reply guy, half right

Wrong about your point, right about the typo, smug about both. The whole comment section is waiting on your next move.

The joke is already taken

Four hundred replies deep, every obvious angle spoken for. What is left is the one only you would say.

No, to someone you love

The loan, the airport run, the wedding you cannot make. Work out what you are protecting first. The sentence gets easier after that.

Almost the right apology

Talkwing’s second suggestion had the right spine, but you are just not that blunt. Say “gentler”, and only that one gets rewritten.

Underneath one tap

You tap once. An orchestra goes to work.

Talkwing is not one prompt into one model. Every reply can pass through deep research on the social side of your situation and genuine reasoning about the emotional one. The right playbook gets pulled, and the moments that carry weight get routed to deeper models that take their time. Anyone can prompt a model. Getting the right words for a real moment takes engineering. All you ever see is the right thing to say.

Underneath

The engineering is the part you never see.

We do not compete on the model. Nobody can, because everyone rents the same ones. What separates a good answer from an embarrassing one is everything that happens before the model is asked, and that is where the work goes.

On the device first

Screenshots are turned into text on your phone, using Apple's own vision framework. The image never leaves your phone. Only the words you asked about are sent.

Routed, not brute-forced

Every request goes to the smallest model that can do it justice. Quick fixes stay quick. The heavy ones get deep research on the social intelligence side and slow, careful reasoning on the emotional one.

Your register, not ours

How you write is read from the thread itself: Hinglish, clipped work English, whatever you actually sound like. It sharpens your voice instead of replacing it.

Nothing to leak

Your device holds the conversation, not our servers. We keep signals and never transcripts, so there is no history on our side to breach, subpoena or sell. Privacy here is an architecture, not a promise.

The short version

We save nothing.

Not your conversations, not your messages, not anything you type. The full detail is in the privacy policy, and it is short on purpose.
